So what did I learn at work…
Here’s what I learned at the new company.
1.) The drive to and from work is about 1 hr on a good day
2.) German english is almost as bad as the indian english I had to deal with at CS
3.) European work enviroment is way more quiet than American work enviroment
4.) Everyone seems pretty wealthy here
5.) There’s several freaking employees here that don’t have homes in PA b/c they travel so much. They just rent hotel rooms for a week or so until they have to travel again…
6.) Did I mention they travel alot? I have YET to meet my immediate boss (I’ve been here for 2 weeks now). I JUST met my other team member this week.
7.) It doesn’t matter HOW much money you make or HOW high up you are in business… I saw a CTO of a multi-million dollar company (will remain nameless, but you heard of them) in a training session having issues with right clicking on a mouse.
Needless to say, they’ve been paying me for the past 2 weeks to sit here and read. I try the best I can but, these people code in english and then comment in german or variable names in german. Google translator is my new friend..
